I beat the rematch with Alma. I didn't save, though, and got a game over afterwards, so I get to do it again. Later. I'm probably done for the night.

The only big deal about that fight was that she did really rapid dodges constantly, and she also was occasionally invulnerable to your attacks. I noticed that the lightning ninpo wouldn't damage her, but it would cause her to slump over, so I could get a couple of quick hits in if I was getting impatient. Otherwise, I didn't use any strategy.

I also didn't use any strategy for the dragon boss of the fire stage. I have no idea what I was supposed to do with the two layers of floor. I also don't know how to avoid its attack when it beats its wings and fire goes in all directions (perhaps those two things are related?) It didn't make a difference; it only used that attack twice in the fight. For the most part, I just waited for it to stick its neck out, then I'd attack it. (It's rather like suicidal invulnerability).

To be a little bit positive, while I think combat in this game is somewhat tedious and unenjoyable, I have sort of liked some of the puzzles. (Though nothing has been a stumper). Just getting out of a recent area required wall run jumping around a room over and over; it took me a second to figure out that must have been what I'd have to do (since the map didn't show that room as a dead end. Also, I don't think I've been able to do that move so many times in one place before.)
