Yeah, I have the Dabilahro. I tried it against the worms once, but it was so weak it was worthless. That surprised me, since the whole point of that sword was that it was supposed to be strong, but it wasn't powered up. I never even tried the flails against the worms (I haven't powered up the flails, either).

With the sword, I for the most part only got in one hit at a time against them. And the only two moves in their patterns I would counter would be a) When they'd kind of start to sway, then quickly swing across the area I was standing in b) When they'd move straight forward very quickly (and if they'd catch you, they'd take off more than half your life).

When they'd do that swinging move, I jump in the air and do a strong attack. There was a good chance that Ryu would just flat out miss them (sometimes, continuing to hold strong attack would then charge a move that would unerringly hit the enemy, but it didn't always work). And they took a lot of hits, anyway, so it was a long fight, which increases the odds of being hit by an attack, even if I know how to avoid it in principle.

Anyway, the last room (at least that I've been in, but I presume that boss is the stage's boss) in stage 10 was the one I described above. You get to it after doing some wall kicks near a statue in an earlier room. Then, in the area itself, there's a little room off to the side. From there, a series of wall run jumps will take you to a platform. You can shoot a red target, which will lower a piece of wall, which you'll use to wall run jump to the target. There are stairs there that take you to the ceiling of the area.

I guess the boss could be described as a demon. It kind of looked skeletal to me, but maybe that was just because it was white.
