I went to the jaded gamer and saw that loogaroo (he who can't face a camera without opening his mouth) writes for them. Lovely.

I hated, absolutely HATED, how my parents would refuse to snap the picture until I was making the biggest, goofiest, most dorkiest smile possible. DO NOT force people to "smile for the camera". It looks unnatural. It looks stupid. It makes you look like a retard.

On the same note, if you're trying to take a picture of someone doing something, then DO NOT force them to turn and look at the camera. It looks absolutely retarded if someone is playing a game in a picture and they're not facing the television screen. Or if they're petting an animal at the zoo and their head is turned 90 deg. away from the animal and looking the other way. It doesn't look natural. It doesn't look like you're taking a picture of someone doing something they enjoy doing, it looks like you're purposefully setting up a camera shot and that comes across as being fake.
