I used to think it was "Engine" Joe, too. Wendy also implies that the "indians" are "savages" after she and the boys return from the Indian camp to Peter Pan's hideout.

I was sort of in a funk before we watched this movie because I had gone to a party that I had been really hyped up for, but the party turned out to be a real snoozer. I was hoping this movie might cheer me up enough to forget about the party, but it was so lackluster that it made me feel even worse.

Other things I didn't like:

Peter Pan so outmatches Captain Hook that you never, ever think anyone is in danger, because you know Pan will always get the better of him. In many ways, I sympathize more with Hook than Pan. We are told that Pan cut off Captain Hook's hand and fed it to the crocodile, and that's why Hook wants revenge on Pan. Maybe, if this had happened during a swordfight situation, it would be more understable of Pan to do such a thing..but no. Mr. Shmee clearly states that Pan did it as a prank! What kind of prank is cutting off someone's hand and feeding it to a crocodile?? Hook may be a pirate he shoots his own man, but Pan is an annoying flying kid who pulls sadistic pranks. Who do you root for?

Much of the humor doesn't work. Examples:

The humor involving the crocodile doesn't work. In the beginning of the movie, Hook shoots one of his own men for annoying him by singing and playing an accordian. So why doesn't he just shoot the crocodile, too?

There's a joke at the beginning of the movie involving the kids' father, the dog Nana, and a pile of children's alphabet blocks that goes on and on and on several times. The father keeps knocking the pile over...the dog keeps putting it back up. After the first or second time this happens, you begin to wonder why doesn't the dog just make the pile someplace where it's less likely to be stepped on?
