I vaguely remember analyzing last season's Simpson's good to bad episode ratio being something like 1 to 2. But off the top of my head, I can't remember ANY episodes, good or bad, which is strange considering how much I remember of the older ones. I think the Simpson's probably peaked around season 4, when the show was hilarious and inventive. It was still regularly funny into seasons 5 and 6, IIRC, [what season is the show in now, anyway? 11th?] but then the show's style was firmly established. I haven't seen too many Futurama episodes, but it seems to have been fairly successful at continuing the Simpson's style, but the new setting gives it new humor potentials. When I saw Principle Skinner's backstory, about how he took the original's place, I knew the Simpsons had nearly exhausted all the characters and possibilities the show had.
