Aerith is NOT what the Japanese call her, though. They call her "Erisu." But the name "Aerith" is a reference to something. Probably something meaningless like "Sephiroth" meaning the steps of the Kabballa or whatever.

Although we have some disagreements, I'm surprised how often our thinking synchs up; I always think of those pudgy polygon blobs as "LEGO people" too. :P

The problem with making a newer remake with realistic models is that there's some "silly" parts in FFVII where the less realistic characters help you suspend your disbelief, like when you have to jump up to Junon on the dolphin, or when you play "dress-up" with Cloud.

The one thing that's really bugged me about all the worthless spinoffs is, you never see the Golden Saucer in any of them! The sequence where you first see Golden Saucer in glorious FMV was the only point in the entire game that really made me go "wow!' Actually, I haven't beaten the entire game yet, so I don't know that for sure, but from what I've heard the ending will probably leave me going "huh?" rather than "wow!"
