(edit- correction, only until you present your first piece of evidence, but still a cool idea)
Note: apparently not the final translation, either, as Capcom got it through a fan site or some such nonsense.

Free playable flash demo of Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney |

The sequel to the Phoenix Wright series featuring a new attorney. I think you get to play through the entire prologue case.

I decided to go ahead and play through the demo, and short as it is, I'm kind of intrigued. You can tell that they're trying to reintroduce the series
to newcomers by making it easier (it feels more like the case 1 of the original PW game than the sequels, with detailed explanations available if needed.) It
opens up with Phoenix Wright requesting Apollo to be his attorney even though his friend, an excellent lawyer and Apollo's mentor, is available, presumably
because he senses that Apollo has huge potential.
One new gameplay addition not featured in the demo is the perceive system, which apparently replaces psyche locks. It's basically reading body language during testimony, which is supposed to be something Apollo is skilled at. I'm going to buy the game when it comes out. Here's some screencaps and commentary. Apollo seems annoying in a lot of the artwork, but I don't mind him at all in the actual courtroom. Winston Payne is trying a great new hairdo, and as usual, is the prosecutor for the first case. Phoenix Wright has some enjoyable remarks since he's not trying to be a model defense attorney anymore.
Apollo sweating bullets. It's funnier animated, because the sweat is pouring off of him at near "Airplane" levels. The judge is still the same old judge. He doesn't seem to have aged, although he makes less idiotic comments than before.
Phoenix Wright... smarter than your average defendant? Apollo after he realizes he screwed something up.

And I just got a plot spoiler that pretty much erases any concerns I had about the Hobo Phoenix issue and what it does to his character, so I'm happy.
Trials and Tribulations irritated me at times, but I'm suffering serious Ace Attorney withdrawal and want to play this NOW.

Oh my god, that's Phoenix???? I thought it was the Apollo Justice equivelent of Gumshoe!Oh, I thought I'd already seen you refer to him as hobo Phoenix. Yeah, this is him 7 years and 2 months after Trials and Tribulations. This was the biggest reason I was avoiding the game, but like I said, I'm satisfied enough with the spoilers I've read, particularly about part of the ending, that I can live with the decision. Gumshoe's gone in this game for unexplained reasons (maybe he just doesn't happen to be investigating any of the same cases as you) and it looks like his role is taken by Ema from the bonus case of Ace Attorney. Her personality is supposed to be pretty different in this one, though, except maybe where science is involved. I've never played these games, but liked the demo.Definitely worth giving the series a try, but I wouldn't bother to play them out of order, it would hugely detract from the enjoyment. |

Now that I see it again, his pointing pose isn't bad at all.
This girl is commenting on Phoenix's dining arrangements. Couldn't resist. She's actually the "new Maya", Apollo's sidekick and surely not as good a character as Maya was.
No clue, but his angled pointing finger is funny.
