I did notice that if you wait long enough outside the castle in Milon's Secret Castle, lightning does appear. But there's also lightning in the The Addams Family game and it would be more understandable why he kept confusing it with Fester's Quest.

Anyway, the reason I was reminded of this topic is because I've run into this twice at some other forums lately. One person was looking for a driving and shooting game that he insisted he played on the NES. It fit the description of Outlander for the Super NES and Sega Genesis. When I told him that, he admitted he thought it was Outlander but felt that "couldn't be right". At that point, I wanted to hit him. If he thought it was Outlander, why not just look up some info on it or download a ROM? Why should others have to look it up for him?

The other person described Gauntlet II and when people told him it was Gauntlet II, he insisted it was NOT Gauntlet II. When they asked him to give more details about the game, he described yet more things right out of Gauntlet II. Finally he admitted it was Gauntlet II. I'm glad I didn't get involved in that one because I probably would have verbally strangled him.

I've never forgotten the name of any game I've played, with one exception: I remember playing some weird Apple IIe edutainment game years ago in elementary school that was similar in gameplay to those Sierra PC adventure games. The beginning parts of the game were pretty easy to figure out, but there was one part towards the end that I could not solve. Here's what I remember about it:

1. You traveled between different planets.

2. The final planet I could not figure out how to get to because you needed some kind of special suit to go there due to the atmosphere being unsafe or something like that.

3. I could never get the guy who had the suit to sell/give it to me.

4. I think the guy who had the suit wanted a guitar, or a cello, or a violin, or some kind of instrument like that. But even though I had the instrument, I still couldn't get him to fork over the suit.

5. The game had an internal timer. If you took too long to solve it, the main villain would eventually show up and capture you, giving you a Game Over and forcing you to start all over again. He would always show up and end my game on the planet with the guy who wouldn't give me the suit.

No one else in the class could figure out how to get past that part either. I wish I knew what that game was and if there was some way to emulate it on a modern PC...
