Yuku free message boards

I don't mind Tetris being in a top 100, but I think always putting it so close to the top is overrating it. But it's one of those things that I've grown so used to, that it just doesn't phase me anymore.

Loto is Tohsaka/Slayer/Shadow Villgust/Something-Something Moai/(insert a million other names here).

The Unregistered User appears to be a Yuku profile transfer glitch. I don't remember who it was originally, though.

As for Loogaroo...there was a brief moment of time after we left the Game Pond and they were still fighting amongst themselves over there that a bunch of people from the NES Scene visited. It was a similar situation for them - their boards were floundering under the weight of fighting, so some came here for awhile instead. Loogaroo was one of them. The NES Scene is now pretty much completely and totally dead. What little pieces of it that remain (like NESplayer's message board) are a testament to why it died.

As for the "Game Pond Spammers", well, of course we still had some stragglers. You were even here during that time. I remember you saying that what Troy and Daryn did was "Like liberating a town in Ogre Battle".

I seriously doubt I'll ever hold a tournament like that again, but if I did, this time I'd make everyone pre-register to vote. That would eliminate the problem of one-time posters swaying votes (Mr. Unregistered), people coming back to vote under multiple names (Loto), or people purposefully trying to sabotage the results (Game Pond/NES Scene stragglers).

That issue has come up on this board numerous times and been addressed before. A long time ago, I used to do a monthly post total for all active users, but some people began complaining that no matter how much they posted, they couldn't get ahead of people who had just signed up less than a month ago. I had to stop doing the totals because of that. Old ezboard had a glitch that if you were on a fast connection (cable modem, dsl, t1) and held down the button when submitting a post, it would count multiple times and increase your post count. Some people were doing it on purpose and others may have been doing it without being aware of the glitch. I won't name names, but there was one person in particular (who no longer goes here), but it was VERY obvious he was inflating his post count because he was only here two weeks and already showed 400 posts. He was the main reason I stopped doing the post count totals.

I think what's even funnier about these people who accumulate hundreds of posts within a month is that years after they're gone the most dominant impressions they tend to leave on me are none at all or not very good ones.

Unless they exploited another glitch, I'm sure that's how they were doing it. Just search some of the more "suspicious" names on the board and look at the total number of posts that turn up. Even taking into account things like the four times this board lost posts due to outside attacks and glitches, it still wouldn't be anywhere close.

I might have had post flood turned off, but even with it on it wouldn't matter. The glitch caused the post count to go up whether or not the multiple posts actually went through.
