10 off the top of my head, in no particular order:

Level 6-2 of Ninja Gaiden.
The airship level in World 8 of Super Mario Bros. 3.
The final dungeon of Final Fantasy 4.
Rainbow Road in Super Mario Kart.
Venom (Level 6), Path 1 of Star Fox (this game has a lot of memorable levels for me, I'll just go with that one as my favorite)
The Soul Maze in Might & Magic
All of World 8 of the original Super Mario Bros. I don't think I could really narrow it down. Each one has unique challenges.
The final level of Castlevania 3, particularly the parts with the pendulums and the screen that rapidly scrolls down.
Level 6 of The Legend of Zelda - that one took me so long to beat because of all the Wizzrobes.
The Forest Temple in Ocarina of Time.

I also think the Clock Tower from Castlevania 3 is a very memorable level, despite that it comes so early.

Battletoads has a lot of memorable levels, but I'll go with the Speeder Bikes (level 3) and the Snakes (I think Level 6). I also like the Elevator stage.

The Whale dungeon is one of the most memorable in Alundra 2. The hatch puzzle is one of the toughest in the game, and there are a lot of other parts that are difficult, especially if played on the harder setting. There are other reasons it's interesting, too: It's one of the few areas in the game you can't just back out of. And the interaction between Flint and the pirate family in that part is another little bonus.

If I was to pick a memorable part of a mediocre game, I could point out the timed portion of Shadowgate 64 for something difficult and challenging. For something bizarre and atmospheric, Shamsuk's Tower in Aidyn Chronicles. Both are also the best parts of those games.

I really liked AREA 10 of Zanac, too. At least, I think it's AREA 10, but I'm pretty sure it's the last one you can continue from without using a code. It's got a pink motif and a crapload of those ball-spitting things at the end.

I also like the "Gauntlet" level of Gradius 3, especially the part with the falling ceiling and floor tiles, but the part before that is good, too.

FO named a dungeon, but how about Dragadune? Another one that was memorable for me was Raven's Lair.

I could name other dungeons from that game as being good and memorable, too. I loved the final puzzle in the Astral Plane, for example. But the thing about the Soul Maze is that it was solved in a way I had never solved a puzzle in a game before and not since. Aside from that one, the one dungeon I probably spent the most time on was that confounded Magic Square (Hawkseye Hills Cave). I figured out that they all had to add up to the same number, but I didn't know what number, and I spent forever trying to figure it out.

I think he's actually talking about using the Moogle Charm, but that's a legitimate thing you can do in the game by its own rules. I'm not even sure I know what glitch is involved if you use Umaro, I've never tried using him there.

That doesn't sound like a glitch either.
