I'm not sure how the billing works here. Crawl said that sometimes apartment buildings are all on one meter and the bill is split evenly between each dwelling, regardless of how little or how much you use.

I'd be surprised if that was the case here.
We didn't see much for savings last month. It is also possible that they don't read the meter every month, but estimate based on previous usage, so even if we had savings, we wouldn't see them until later. |

Last year they ended up owing us hundreds of dollars by the end of the year because they were basing the budget on the previous year when we needed the heat a lot more. |

Well, one of our compact florescent lights already blew out. If that's their lifespan, I doubt they'll save us any money at all.

Maybe there was something wrong with it. All my originals still work and I've had them on an awful lot. I was just thinking the other day about how great

I'm still being so strict with the heat this year. I have it set to 60 during the day and 57 at night with a few exceptions. For having a shower, it can go
to around 66. If there's something going on, like it's a holiday, I'll keep it high all day. Keep it mind that those are the thermostat temps from
one of the coldest parts of the house. In the closed off rooms where you spend most of your time, it's actually much warmer. I think my cats are still mad
about it, though.

Wow, isn't it much colder there, I'm sure you've had freezing temps already. This house just doesn't retain heat very well.
Well, one of our compact florescent lights already blew out.This is actually not supposed to happen, from everything I've read. They're supposed to start flickering and slowly dying like a regular florescent bulb would. |

I'd rather be a little cold and wear a blanket or more clothing than be the slightest bit hot. I think the older I get, the less tolerant of the heat
I'm getting. If it isn't just cold enough that I have to use a light quilt when I go to bed, then I can't fall asleep.

Yeah, I also can't sleep very well unless it's really cold. I'd often close the vent in the bedroom so I wouldn't be woken up by the hot air if
someone else turned the heat up a little. I ended up using the air conditioner almost all the time even when everyone else had already stopped for the year,
but fortunately, that's not nearly so expensive as heating. I still run my fan most nights just because I like the feel of the cool air on my face. The
only exception for some reason is if I want to have a short nap. I'm not nearly so picky about the temperature in that case.

That's how I am too. Everyone says I'm just the opposite of most people who can't stand the slightest bit of cold and run the heater in 80 degree
weather in the summer when they get older.

The only thing I can think of is that maybe the computer is heating up the place.I don't have solid evidence, but I'm almost convinced that the 360 gets hot enough and emits enough air to warm my room somewhat. |

It's always coldest in this house in the morning when I wake up. Any other time, it's quite warm. I don't know why that is or how the house heats
up during the day without a heater running.

I'm very pleased... I just got the gas bill for November. We used less than half the amount of last November, even though this year's average
temperature was a few degrees lower.
