They should have done a follow-up game instead of another remake. That art in the upper right corner is the bee's knees though.

This would've been nice BEFORE I got the GBA version.
Holding out on a 3D version of FFI and FFV now. They also need to start thinking up excuses on why they haven't ported VII yet. |

I hate the Final Fantasy CG models they've been using since Crystal Chronicles where the characters are proportioned like tops and look like they're going to fall over any second.

You know, I enjoyed the remade III on DS a lot, but it was a lot easier to swallow sans memories of the 2D version, which I've still to this day never played. Since it was entirely new to me, I could roll with it... but a game that's already ingrained in my memories... just won't sit right. I've always been kind of a purist, but I did really like the Phantasy Star remakes in the Sega Ages collection, so I guess I'll just keep my mouth shut and wait, but it'd take a lot to change my mind here, I think.

Yeah, I definitely won't be buying this one. Even if they do a decent job of it, I'm too partial to the 2D version to switch.
 If someone tries to remake FF4 on a system or in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable, that's no good. CB007's GPT & Game Review Archive "Let me tell you something you already know. I'd like to play it, even though it will never be the definitive version.
Final Fantasy III was a good enough (and probably all around better balanced) transition of the Famicom game, but then I didn't really have any strong, pre-standing attachment to the original version. |

mysterious. That version looks entirely to feminine for me to take it seriously.

I guess I've changed my mind enough on this that I'd at least play through the new version to see what it was like. In terms of pure gameplay, I'd
be concerned that the switch to 3D would make combat slower.

I don't recall the battles being all that fast in Final Fantasy II as was, really, and sometimes it seemed like forever before Kain would come back down
from a jump... I played a little earlier and compared it to the DS Final Fantasy III, and I'd say they were paced about the same; maybe III being even a
hair faster.
