Doc says I'll be OK. Got lots antibiotics, an inhaler thingy, and medicine, all free sample versions. That doctor was cool and now I've learned not to
be scared of the doctor because the doctor is your friend.

I shouldn't have looked up the side effects and such for the antibiotics I got, though. If you guys don't hear from me again, it means my tendons have
spontaneously ruptured or something.

Glad to hear it went well. I've had both bronchitis and pneumonia before, but it's been awhile (I last had pneumonia when I was in junior high). I
think a course of antibiotics is pretty typical.
But it's cool that your doc gave you free sample versions. "Of the three ways in which men think that they acquire a knowledge of things--authority, reasoning, and experience--only the last is effective and able to bring peace to the intellect." -Roger Bacon |

He also said he'd charge the lowest price for the visit itself because I didn't have insurance. His assistant was very nice, too.
I didn't realize this right away, but this is the place where my dad went before he was admitted to the hospital. I wonder if we had the same doctor or even went to the same examination room. There were some other weird parallels. He died on November 7 four years ago, so very close timeframe. We both had breathing difficulty. He was coughing up blood. I thought I saw some blood last night when I coughed which is why I finally made myself go. I am seriously stubborn. There were a couple of nights that the coughing was so bad that I was nearing a panic attack, but I still didn't want to make an appointment. I was actually feeling a bit better today aside from the possible blood, so I probably just threw money away and annoyed my coworkers my leaving work early. At least I don't have to have it in the back of my head that I'm dying from some rare lung disease, though. I didn't do this, but the discussion with the doctor brought to mind those House episodes where people brought in their mucus to show him. |

Do you have a humidifier? As soon as I have the first sign of a cold, I get mine out and run it or else I'll end up with bronchitis.
I think my humidifier was made in the 70's and it still runs. |

No, I've never had one. I did buy one of those Vicks vaporizers but I was already incredibly sick at that point and honestly felt worse when I had it on.

I'm not sure what a Vicks vaporizer is, but all a humidifier does is put moisture in the air so that you stay hydrated. Bronchitis is caused by your
bronchial tubes drying out.

If it's the same thing we've got, it's just a humidifier that comes with a special Vicks potion to mix in with the water. If you don't mix in
the stuff (that makes the air incredibly unbreathable, IMO), it'll function like a regular humidifier.

Huh, I thought a regular humidifier was more powerful. Well, I already returned it to buy another fan heater.

I have a humidifier that looks like a penguin. We got him and a dragon last winter when my mother and I were both having breathing trouble.

My brother recommended a Chinese place for us to eat at last weekend. Unfortunately, I didn't think it was good.
When we walked in, we were the only customers, which wasn't a good sign. I ordered the Princess Chicken. I swear, it must have been 50% onions. It was supposed to be spicy, which it really wasn't. It was in some sauce that caused everything to taste like the sauce. Which was sticky and unpleasant. I ate about a quarter of the meal, and could barely eat that. I watched Kitchen Nightmares a few times, and I imagine this place's story was a lot like the ones on that show. Restaurants lose business, so they respond by cutting corners, which just drives away more of their clientele. It's a downward spiral. That show also showed that failing restaurants can cost their owners thousands or even millions of dollars. It's depressing. |

More epic flooding today. I almost couldn't get home and on the one road we could access we had to drive through water deep enough that it was scary.
Tomorrow's high tide is supposed to be the highest water we've had since 1994. They said if the storm had hit when the tides were higher due to the
moon, it could have been the worst flooding here since the 1960's (when I believe the ocean met the bay).
As bad as it is, things are apparently much worse the farther south you go from NJ. |

Well, this kind of blows. My brother is leaving for the marines tomorrow, so I got a thing of Jack Daniels. But he said he can't have any because
he'll have a blood test.
I had two shots so far. We're back home now, though. He went to go shooting with his father, and we're picking up Pepper Pot. We're going back, though, and in a little bit I guess the plan is to have a pizza. |

We're back. I thought that I'd let Pepper out of the carrier in the car since she doesn't like it. Well, about three minutes from home she took a
nice steaming shit on my lap. So, with that, all cats have lost their out-of-the-carrier privileges in the car.

So I used those fan heaters almost nonstop while I had bronchitis and again when we had a little cold spell. So yeah, against all the laws of the universe, the
electric bill went down again.

Bleh. Car having brake problems. Can't look at it until tomorrow, which is when we're supposed to have early Thanksgiving dinner. Just have to put it
out of my mind, I guess, but I can't help thinking, "There goes Christmas".

It's gonna be somewhere around $350 to fix it. Just when I got a tiny bonus and some overtime, there it goes, and more.

Man, I haven't gotten a bloody nose in ages.
And now, I get two in less than 24 hours. Time to bust out the humidifiers, I guess. |
