I forgot you start the DS version of Mario 64 with 3D Yoshi AKA the Bulbous Fuck.

I played a little more Garou online. I've started using Tizoc and ocassionally going back to Terry. Tizoc has a 360 degree + punch throw which I'd like
to be able to pull off whenever but the d-pad really isn't cut out for that kind of thing.

Yeah, no more hold Z long jump as far as I can tell. They added some other moves, but I don't remember how useful they are.

I got 8 stars and unlocked Mario by fighting a new Goomba boss. Now to block the experience of playing as Yoshi out of my mind FOREVER.

I've been struggling to get back into the games I've made progress on - what's left of Super Mario 64 isn't too enticing,
Link's Awakening has that dodgy emulator, Metroid Fusion is kinda eh, I'm stuck in Transformers, and so on and so forth.
I tried starting Haven: Call of the King again since it'd been over a year since I last touched it. Not the best of ideas because unskippable movie scenes. Ye gahds. I did at least finish the lava mines in record time, but I forgot just how clumsy and awkward the game is. I'd like to finish it sometime, though, just for the satisfaction of never having to look at it again. Played an hour of Mega Man Legends, which actually runs better on my Xbox than it ever did on my PlayStation. Beat Tron and Bon Bonne, though I didn't do a good job of not allowing them to blow shit up (it's hard to aim when the R2 button is relocated to below the face buttons on the Xbox controller!). |

Bionic Commando 360 - Did a bit of work on this a couple nights ago. I beat a boss fight with a helicopter. Now I'm going through another fissure, and
Spencer got some ability to jump on a mechanical enemy and start tearing shit out of them. I tried this once on a flying aircraft, which went all crazy after I
pulled a plate off it and when it exploded it was way out in the middle of nowhere and I died.
Sands of Time - I think I got past that section Seabu mentioned with the glitch that can prevent you from continuing, with the elevator switch. I also fudged my way through the room with the mirrors by exploiting a minor glitch (I really had no idea how you were supposed to get back down to the second floor from the third, and given how touchy it was to stand on a horizontal flagpole, I don't think I was supposed to do that) I also started rewatching Garfield and Friends, but have skipped a couple episodes I remember being kind of dumb (the Banana Nose episode of US Acres). You know, every time an episode starts and I hear that "Friends are There" song, I keep picturing the Team Fortress 2 gang... And today I spent more time than I'd like to admit dicking around with Amiga Forever. One thing that really sucks about this, though? Windows can't read Amiga discs, therefore you can't use any physical copies of the game you have and you have to download ADFs. Oh, there's the option to connect an Amiga to your PC and use Amiga Explorer to copy it to Windows, but if you have the Amiga why bother? Oh well, I paid $30 for the emulator so I might as well get the games for free, but that means my copy of Shadow of the Beast 3 is useless unless I decide to buy an actual Amiga. And it's been a pain in the ass getting some games since all the download sites have about five different copies of the games and many of them don't work (and I still haven't found working ADFs for Baal and Blood Money) |

I don't think so. It's the one where Roy plays a joke on Orson and Wade, Lanolin calls Roy "Banana Nose" and everyone starts calling him
"Banana nose", Roy runs away, and then everyone gets him back and it ends in a cheesy song about not picking on others for being different
One a side note, those motivational songs are wholly responsible for my bias against US Acres. The ones about the characters ("Wade, You're Afraid," "I'm a Legal Eagle") usually aren't too bad, but the "UR SPECIAL, KIDS" ones make me call for somebody's head.

Uh...Garfield is...(long pause)...consistent. [...] U.S. Acres, I think, is an abomination. |

I remember talking about the glitch, because it led to me saying that I had dozens of save files, which led to Liontamer saying I was crazy or something. My
feeling was, if you have unlimited storage (Xbox w/harddrive), use it. I just realized I actually still have my original Xbox. I never sold it when it was
still worth anything. I could probably build a game collection for it pretty quickly since there aren't too many AAA titles for it in the first place and
prices are probably rock bottom.
Although it is the Halo edition, so maybe somebody would still want the system.

WinUAE seems to work better than Amiga Forever (except you need the Kickstart files from AF to use WinUAE). For one thing, it loads some games AF gave an error
message for. You can also pause it.

I've got about 17 stars in Mario 64 DS. Got 100% on Bob-omb Battlefield. Mario Wings to the Sky seemed a lot harder with the d-pad controls, which are
almost unbearable even for normal play. The 5 Silver Star collection felt kind of tacked on. It's basically the same thing as collecting red coins, but
easier.
The first time you fight the King Bomb guy, you're controlling Yoshi, and instead of throwing the boss, you're using the little bombs he throws at you against him, either by having Yoshi spit them out or just by letting the bombs chase you while you stay near the boss. You fight him again later in the traditional way for another star. They removed the star you get from reaching the island in the sky. You don't actually get the Wing Cap until a little later, and you need to have Mario unlocked, too, because all you're really unlocking is the Red Blocks themselves, which have different items for each character. Only Mario can fly, only Wario can be metal, etc. I noticed in Jolly Roger Bay, you only have to open one chest to raise the sunken ship. There are still multiple chests in the cave, though. --- I did get some more Shines in Sunshine yesterday, but I forget the exact total. I know in the first level, I'm up to the rematch with Petey the Piranha. Then I started the next level where you fight a giant Blooper. You basically spray water in its face to make it attack you, then slowly "tear its arms off one at a time. Then after the arm comes off, it flops around wildly for a while and disappears. The whole fight seems ridiculously cruel. All it did was pollute the water a bit. Yeah, I'm exaggerating a little, but the 1:50 mark of this video shows the battle. |

I'm trying to write a BoF2 review, but I'm having some writer's block. I know what I want to say about it, but I can't think of an introduction
that segues well into that. Ho hum.
I had some yellow matter custard. Thankfully, it wasn't dripping from a dead dog's eye.

I guess another point in WinUAE's favor is it runs Menace properly. On Amiga Forever, the mothership that launches your ship at the beginning is all messed
up, and Level 2 was an unplayable, glitched out mess. Unfortunately, Menace kind of sucks. The biggest problem is the way the ship moves. It's like the
ship moves on an X-like plane rather than a +-like one, so if you want to go right it has to zigzag northeast-southeast-northeast-southeast.
EDIT: Well that's interesting, Menace wasn't responding to my USB controller before...
