What's the point of The B-52s? |

More specifically, what's the point of Fred Schneider?

To create "Rock Lobster" and the theme song to Rocko's Modern Life. That was the entire reason for their existence, and indeed for Fred
Schneiders's existence.
I live on the internet.

Fred Schneider is proof that you don't need to be musically inclined in any way, shape, or form to make a career out of it.

they're one of the many bands who proved you could make a band out of unskilled and semi-skilled musicians? actually from what i've read, most rock (or
rock-like) bands are self-taught musicians/singers who knew next to nothing about their craft when they started out.

I think one time they were asked what kind of band they are, and they didn't really know.
It seems to me like nowadays if you were to throw a band together and have even the slightest smidgeon of ability to put together a song, you might be successful. There are endless amounts of bands on the radio now. |
