Rule #1: Any message board in which more than three people are using a picture of a real person as an avatar is guaranteed to be a shithole.

#2. If the owner/admin of the message board uses a picture of himself as an avatar, there's a good probability the board will be a shithole (especially if
he's not wearing any clothes).

Okay, here's one:
At any board without avatars, almost all of the users will blend into each other. At most, like maybe 10 will stand out on the basis of their personalities. And you'll see people acting like can't stand each other, and you'll think, What the heck? You two are practically the same person. |

A Cartoon Network character for an avatar indicates that person likely suffers from social retardation and a lack of critical thinking skills.

Okay, where are you getting this from?Me or FO? I've noticed a direct correlation between message boards where a lot of people use pictures of real people for avatars (as opposed to cartoon or game characters or other random objects) and the overall way they act. |

On a related note, I don't think you should ever use an avatar of a real life person who is not yourself (unless it is a really, really well-known popular celebrity), because if I'm unfamiliar with the person in the picture, I'll automatically think that it's a photograph of the user. |

Hell, there's a good chance I'll picture a person as being their avatar even if it's not a real life person.
