Well, I guess I can understand him wanting a breed of dog that would be good for kids. Something more intimidating, like a German shepherd or a rottweilier
might seem "cooler", but would probably be too aggressive.
But still...there's gotta be something that would be good for kids and look more dignified than an oversized poodle. What about a Collie (a good American symbol and good with kids considering Lassie..), an Irish Setter, a Golden Retriever, a Dalmation, or a Lab? "No one can withstand
the power of KAIN"

I thought Dalmations were supposed to have an attitude.

Yeah, I think I remember hearing somewhere that when that live-action 101 Dalmations came out many years ago, it spurred a bunch of Dalmation adoptions, but
people were finding out that they aren't the best dogs to have if you have kids, for some reason.
We just saw some retired racing greyhounds (think Santa's Little Helper) at a pet store that were up for adoption. They're big, but gentle as lambs. |

Those greyhounds would probably make awesome pets. They said that they play intensely for a little bit, then are totally conked out. (That sounds a little
bit like our kitties)

If I ever got a dog, I would adopt a retired Greyhound, too. I know someone who has one and it's the sweetest dog in the world. However, I think even a
well-trained dog like that would give my birds a heart attack if they saw it coming near them.
