My guess is that Banjo's nose being rectangular shape has something to do with the "Nuts and bolts" (I'm probably stating the obvious here).
Kinda looks like he's got a testicle on his forehead though.

Could be a homage to his N64 roots, could be an attempt at cartoonishness, I don't know.
His nose doesn't bother me nearly as much as his forehead. |

From the introductory paragraph of Wikipedia's article on Buck Bumble:
While the levels are height restricted, Buck can fly around in over 20 missions, some requiring the placement of a bomb without dropping it. Okay, what do those three concepts have to do with each other? |

An Amazon customer review on the Godzilla game for the original Game Boy:
Quote by "A Customer" (I kid you not)There is another similar review. Seems some gamers hate this game just because it isn't what they think a Godzilla game should be, regardless of whether the game itself is well-constructed and fun to play or not (and that person needs to check their ears, I love the Godzilla soundtrack). Now, this entire review is shallow and rather misguided to say the least, but... "Godzilla's a character from Bust-A-Move" ... that doesn't make any sense. At all. ???? |

The difference is, Bust-a-Move and Bubble Bobble clearly share characters, while Godzilla merely looks like that due to a rather awkward design. Stating that
Godzilla's from Bust-a-Move is really too much, anyway (then again, I wonder why I'm bothering with this review; I responded to the reviewer that I
didn't find one single word on the gameplay in his review).

Populous DS
This remake for the Nintendo DS is an exercise in nostalgia that will be enjoyed only by old-timers who experienced the original in all its late-'80s glory. While you have to give the developers credit for sticking tight to the 20-year-old design in an era of glitz and glam, you also have to wonder how anyone could have thought that such an ancient game could fly in 2008. Audio is nearly nonexistent, with sound effects that you barely take notice of during levels and a variable soundtrack that comes off as more of a blah ode to the 16-bit era than anything distinctive. All this remake shows us is that 1989 was a long time ago, and that Populous needs a proper reimagining along the lines of Sid Meier's Pirates! to be relevant to a modern world. |

I wonder whether these people ever read books or go to the movies or listen to music or look at art or watch dancers dance.
While you have to give the choreographers credit for sticking tight to the 200-year-old "ballet" style in an era of glitz and glam, you also have to wonder how anyone could have thought that such an ancient dance form could fly in 2008. All this remake shows us is that 1981 was a long time ago, and that Raiders of the Lost Ark needs a proper reimagining along the lines of Snakes on a Plane to be relevant to a modern world. |

I pointed that out to someone who complained about Final Fantasy 4 being outdated, and he said those analogies didn't fit. His reasons for why they
didn't fit made no sense to me.

Just to follow up, Rare gave in on the text issue:
It has come to our attention that people are experiencing subtitle readability issues with Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts on Standard Definition TVs. We would like to assure you that contrary to earlier reports, we are aware of the issue and currently working on a title update to be released within the next 30 days that will fix it for those with Standard Definition TVs. We're committed to ensuring all fans of the franchise are able to have the best experience possible with Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts |

That's good. It'll make YouTube videos legible, at least. My sister and I were trying to sample the Nuts & Bolts dialogue and jeez, that is the
smallest text I've ever seen in a video game. We were disappointed and started watching videos of Banjo-Tooie instead.
I like this part of the quote: It has come to our attention that people are experiencing subtitle readability issues |

The "FF4 is outdated" guy then said something along the lines "Your complaints would be valid if I were reviewing the original FF4. But I'm reviewing the remake, so your point is meaningless." |

I've noticed some people making fun of the GameFAQs polls in this topic and I've been wondering what's up with that for some time now, like
today's poll:
I guess if you do a poll a day, you'll inevitably run out of game-related polls, but WTF? "People are to be respected
regardless of position or class.
This should always be remembered." - Saradin, Ogre Battle |
