Alex Kidd in Miracle World (Master System), Burning Fight (Neo Geo)

Wii Ware:

Gyrostarr- Makes me dizzy. Also uses about 300 memory blocks. Nintendo had better do something about storage soon or their entire Virtual Console and Wii Ware platforms are fucked.

In terms of difficulty, Inafune says they aren't holding back for players whose reflexes might have deteriorated over the years, but they will try to keep it as close to that of the NES games as possible.

The fuck, dude? People who were kids when the NES was around are my age now. They're not fucking ninety years old. And I think the games we were used to were more difficult than what people who are growing up with games now are used to.

I can't read any game article anymore without becoming angry.

Can you imagine if a movie preview said they wouldn't simplify the plot for the benefit of the failing memories and mental capacities of an adult audience? Christ. I'm more angry about this now than I was this morning.

I agree that it's bad, but probably what they're trying to say is that because games are easier now, people who used to play the NES Mega Man games might not be as good at challenging games as they used to be. What that doesn't account for is that they could just practice for a few minutes.

...the only NES Mega Man that was all that hard was the first one (and I swear the games got easier with each one, with Mega Man 6 being piss easy).

I don't blame you. When it was VC releases only, it was more interesting. The WiiWare games just sound disappointing.

I guess I could keep doing it, I was just kind of pissed off.

I'll just try not to worry too much about what's going to come out so I won't be disappointed. For a while, I would look forward to Monday morning to see what new games there would be. but it's gotten pretty lame.

Also, I'm not going to mention the Wii Ware games in this thread in the future unless there's something with obvious appeal to people here, like Mega Man 9.

Whoa, I thought you were joking before I googled that.

My first thought was, "How can you possibly represent competitive eating in videogame form?" But I guess that doing quarter circles forward and pressing a button is a pretty abstract representation of fighting...

I don't think a "barf meter" does a good job of being an equal representation.

Of course, I'm being unfair. There's plenty of games about serving food and cooking food. A game about eating food shouldn't surprise me.

But it's such a damn awful idea...

Super Fantasy Zone (Genesis import), and Gley Lancer (Genesis import)

I read that Gley Lancer is a pretty rare game, so I guess this isn't a bad release, especially compared to recent weeks.
