I have never played a Virtual Boy game for more than 10 seconds. I'm curious if they were good or too reliant on the 3D to be enjoyable.

I wonder if they'll try to get people to buy the same game twice by releasing the superior Master System version of Double Dragon much later.

Turns out that the ESRB has rated Earthbound, so it should be coming out in the near future. Who knows if they'll ever release Mother 1. It wouldn't be
hard since it's already been translated, and they've released other import games. Apparently, Earthbound was the number one most wanted game in a
recent Nintendo Power poll. I don't know how much weight that carried since Nintendo isn't even involved with the magazine anymore, but the timing is
interesting.

I don't know how much weight that carried since Nintendo isn't even involved with the magazine anymoreI'm not following these things, so I looked that up at Wikipedia. They're apparently paying another company to write it. So, they're not DIRECTLY involved. Anyway, FO and I already have Earthbound 0. |

Apparently, Earthbound was the number one most wanted game in a recent Nintendo Power poll. It surprises me that Nintendo hasn't milked the Mother franchise more. With the free marketing the Super Smash Bros. series gives to the Mother games, Ninty could easily vault the series internationally as it did with Fire Emblem. How is Earthbound 0? |

I thought FO's first impression was that it was crap. Slow, high encounter rate.
Earthbound seems to me like a type of gaming experience you'd only need once, if it was done well.
See how your opinion ruined Christmas for everyone!

I didn't really get far enough in it to judge it yet. It did seem like it had a slow start and some good music. That's about all I can say.
Really, I wouldn't call the game "crap" without further playtime. I can't get something out of nothing, but I never tried. www.flyingomelette.com Signature Under Construction |

Sethra played it and I think she said it had nothing to offer that Earthbound didn't.

There will be no Virtual Console this week as Nintendo launches the Wii Ware service to compete with Xbox Live Arcade and other similar products. Relatively
inexpensive remakes and original games that wouldn't be suitable for retail treatment.
FINAL FANTASY CRYSTAL CHRONICLES: My Life as a King (Kingdom building simulator) LostWinds (Platformer with wind theme and heavy use of the Wii remote) Defend Your Castle (Do you need an explanation? "Hold them off as long as possible") Pop (A bubble popping game. Wii is truly the next generation of videogames) V.I.P. Casino: Blackjack (This is useful because there's no way you could find a million free blackjack games on the internet.) TV Show King (A quiz show game. I'm sure it'll get a perfect score.) Where the fuck is the Dr. Mario remake that was supposed to be here? That was the only thing I wanted. |

Y'know, I was just thinking about how for every attempt at making an actual game for the DS like Phoenix Wright or Etrian Odyssey, there's ten
wiffleball games, or license cash-ins, or brain training tools, or pet/baby simulators, or crossword/sudoku/that other Japanese paper puzzle that I think
starts with a K collections, or ports of some Internet Flash game with all the depth of a Wario Ware microgame.
And the game pool of the Wii is no better.

I'm only looking forward to Lost Winds out of those. Thats the one that seems to be worth the money to play. The others look good, but don't seem to
hold my interest for too long.
