FO just looked at my Super Smash Bros. Melee' "review".

It has this line:

"Turtle Presence: 9.51"

I don't even know what that means.

Minor change, but I got rid of the "pranks" directory and changed it to "readerreviews". I think the lesson from Powerup Comics is that, aside from the satire itself, you shouldn't have any indication that you're not serious.

Since Powerup has the parody of webcomics down, I think if we were to do something like that, it would be hilarious to have a site that's a parody of sites like IGN / Gamespot, etc. (Maybe even some of the more annoying amature sites) Since the reviews and news would all be crap, I don't even know if it would be a lot of work, though it would take the involvement of several people.

It should be news and reviews. Now, you might say, we don't have any exclusive content for news. That's okay, IGN didn't always, either. So, we could have non-stories like

Remember a couple of years ago when Peter Jackson was going to direct a Halo movie? Wouldn't that be cool? Just imagine, all the drama of Lord of the Rings, but starring Master Chief! Post some comments in the forums to let 'em know that you want to see him start this movie, now!

No, I wouldn't want it to have anything to do with my normal site.

I'm visualizing something that would look like netjak or thejadedgamer -- one of those amature sites that had a staff of several working for them. We'd have several characters anyone could write for (I'm thinking of a pretentious blow-hard, a guy with all cliche opinions, someone with a little kid mentality, etc.), or even freelance one-offs if you didn't want to write in-character. I'd be more interested in spoofing the bigger sites, but we're obviously not gonna be able to update several columns every day. Of course, we'd also plaster the site with ads.

I probably shouldn't get too ambitious, because realistically, it's not gonna happen. If we had five people in on it, they'd have to come up with something every five days, on average. Following the PUC example, we'd built up a stockpile of columns, and dribble them out once a day. Now, there would be no quality control at all, so there would be no pressure to come up with something "good", but even so, I don't know if I could get anyone interested in it at all, let alone that many people that committed.

And if someone had no knowledge of modern gamers, and no interest in going through modern sites for ideas, of course retroreviews would be great, too.

And of course, LISTS! The easiest web content to generate. This would also let us spoof Cracked (and Gamefaqs). They could be redundant, too. Someone could do a Top 10 hardest bosses, and someone else could do a similar topic later.

Really, if you just "got" the basic idea of what I'm suggesting, and were interested, you could let your creativity roam unfettered.
