Adults don't like it when kids make slurping noises through a straw, yet I hear adults slurping coffee all the time.
Here's an idea: How about waiting a few moments for your coffee to cool down before drinking it? Or maybe don't make it so hot to begin with? I'm assuming it's because it's hot that people have to slurp it because I never hear anyone slurping water, or iced tea, or soda, or any other beverage.
Here's another one that me and another family member used to love pointing out years ago: Adults always say "Never talk to strangers", but my
mother would randomly talk to random people in stores everywhere. Sometimes it got really embarrassing because it was obvious that some people didn't want
to be bothered, and also because her choice of subject would often be mean (like to complain about her kids, right in front of us) or off-putting (one time she
started going on about our dog's bathroom habits to someone in a pet store - yeah, just because they might also be a dog owner, that doesn't mean they
want to hear about that.) One time I got lost riding my bicycle and I had to ask directions to get home. When I told my mother why I was late, I should've
left out that bit of information because when I mentioned it, she gave me the "saucer eyes" routine while shouting, "YOU TALKED TO
STRANGERS?!?!?!"
I also had an uncle who would get really mad if you didn't say "Hello" to people as you walked past them.
