It doesn't surprise me that sales of the original DVD releases were poor. Everyone and their brother who is interested in this wants full-seasons.
I only personally want Season 1, but even though the episodes that were released are from Season 1, I was also trying to hold out for a full-season. |

That page says it has "just over 100" episodes, while Wikipedia claims 140 episodes.
Anyway, there's 78 episodes in the first Saturday morning and weekday syndicated seasons, so I think FO would say that even if you're forced to buy the entire series, more than half of them would still be good. |

With that many discs, there's probably no way I could afford it. Maybe they'll do the same thing that happened with the Alien Quadrilogy and
they'll eventually release the separate seasons because I would probably only want the first few seasons before it became an all-out Slimerfest, too.

That page updated about the difference in episode count, by the way. The places that got 140 episodes were counting episodes made up of two miniepisodes as two
full episodes.

Starting in Season 4 (I think), RGB started showing two 15 minute shows instead of full 30 minute shows. That's probably why the totals are coming up
different because I added up the episodes from ghostbusters.net and it comes out to 140 exactly (and that's not counting the "Slimer" spinoff
episodes from Season 3).
Also, some sites (Wikipedia, I think) "cheat" with the season episode count. I saw one (again, Wikipedia, I think it was) that said the show had 8 seasons, but counted the Saturday Morning Season 1 as Season 1 and the syndicated episodes as Season 2, then had Saturday Morning Season 2 as Season 3, Saturday Morning Season 3 as Season 4, and so on.

Here's hoping they don't use the one on the right with the horrible art from those individual DVDs they released.Unless it came directly from an animation cell, I have never seen official art based on that show that doesn't look completely screwed-up. The only thing that really burns me about this is that it is rather expensive and I really only want Season 1. But I should probably spring for it anyway.

Yeah, but the second one says "available exclusively online at ghostbustersdvd.com" and clicking that takes you to the Timelife order page.
If anything, you could run through and figure out what was going on in that episode where everyone was turning into cartoon animals and Peter's face was messed up. |

I actually did see that entire episode on Youtube. I just posted the pictures because they were funnier out-of-context than the actual show was.
The one I'm wondering about is the one where Egon is dressed in a white robe, rocks out on a casio strapped to his shoulders, then raises his hand as a ball of light appears in it. I still have that sequence of screencaptures, but I don't have any idea what episode they're from.

They're going with the Firehouse design, thank God.
It was a fan voting. I voted for the firehouse, the one with the characters was just too creepy. |

I'm so torn. I do want it, but I'm afraid the show won't really live up to my memories of it, and that is a pretty big investment. I don't have
any interest in the Slimer cartoon, either. That was unwatchable even as a child. There are lots of extras, though.

I've tried, but I don't get much enjoyment out of watching any shows on there. I'm probably going to get the set. It was one of my favorite shows
growing up, and I can always sell it if I want to after I've gone through everything.
