Crystal Warriors is very... simple. There's not a whole lot of story, and the formula goes fight a battle, enter the town rinse and repeat. Not to mention the towns all look alike. The battle system is even simplified, it's all rock-paper-scissors with elements. I'd only play it if you've already finished Shining Force and are craving another portable Tactical RPG. And then be sure not to pay a whole lot for it because it's only going to last you the course of an evening. It should be had for $10 - $15 if your persistent about looking.

The best RPG for the system however by far is Defenders of Oasis. The Arabian setting hasn't been done to death, the characters has a surprising about of death for a handheld game, and the Dragon Warrior battle system is pretty much a classic. Also contains a good mix of puzzles and is a nice length to boost. One thing I particuarily liked about the game was the magic. Everything has made up Arabian sounding name... whichs requires a bit of memory but once ou get into the game you don't forget what the spells do. Overall it's nothing new, but does everything right.

Another shame about Crystal Warriors is that, like many other GameGear RPGs, they didn't release the much better sequal in the US. Royal Stone.
