Thanks to Google Earth, you can see it!
We cross over to the island from the north. It looks to me like the day those satellite pictures were taken, the river was high and you wouldn't be able to walk across.
You can see a few details I talked about. Most obviously, the meadow in the middle of the island. The southwest tip is stony. One thing you can't see is that the south side is more "open" than the north. Both have a lot of trees, but there's a lot of sand under the trees on the south. On the north, it's a thicket.
