Maybe it's just me, but feminism on the internet seems like just another "scene", and an excuse to get pissed off when someone questions anything about it.

Well, this isn't even on the internet.

Side story: My mother has a degree in women's studies. For one of her courses ... well, I don't exactly what the assignment was, but it might have been to see how gender relationships are portrayed in particular forms of media. I suggested she could watch some cartoons.

So, what she did was cherry pick things that she thought were sexist. She also concluded that Pokemon (the cartoon) was sexist on the basis of Misty showing her midriff.
