I'm thoroughly convinced that the only reason any of these sites display these messages is simply because they've detected you're using IE and
that's what their code says to display upon detecting it. It has nothing to do with whether or not your browsing is properly displaying/functioning with
the site and in all cases in which I've seen it, I either never notice any difference between the way IE handles the site and the way Firefox does, or if
anything, the way our Firefox displays it, it looks worse because of how I can't get it to stop displaying text twice the normal size.

I don't think I'm aware of what you're talking about. Could you post an image of one such anti-Internet Explorer message?
I honestly think IE is fairly underrated. It's older versions aren't so good, but the current version, (7.0,) supports tabs, and stuff. I think that one requires Windows XP or later for its OS, but there's another one with tab support that works on at least Windows 2000. My brother knows of a pretty entertaining site that argues that Firefox is overrated, with articles on why. I'll ask him about it later. I recommend Opera, but I think you already know that. |

There were a couple of sites that used to give me some message about switching to Firefox if I viewed them in IE, but ever since I upgraded to 7.0 the messages
don't appear anymore.

Your brain may not be fully compatible with this site. can't get it to stop displaying text twice the normal size. You've tried the View->Text Size menu, right? I wonder if IE supports ad blocking software yet. Until it does, I'll never consider switching back to it.

I've tried that, but it only works for the current tab and only so long as you don't close that tab. When you open another tab or another Firefox session, it goes right back to the way it was before.
