Yeah, that's what one of the guys I was with (who I think took a cell phone picture of him) said. But just intellectually knowing what role a person has had doesn't help me intuitively form a mental association of an actor as well as seeing them in something. And I missed Iron Man. I was feeling kind of overloaded with superhero movies at that time.

He was in Iron Man. He's the one who got screwed over when they gave his role in the sequel to Don Cheadle.

According to Wikipedia, Philadelphia has the most toynbee tiles of any city. There might even be another on the route between my hotel and the convention that I missed before.

I think it was proven that they started in Philadelphia and they think the guy who originally made them lived there and eventually died there. I think the one I spotted in our area has been completely...

I'm not sure what the plan for today is. I woke up about 15 minutes ago, but my roommate is still asleep. We originally thought we'd have to leave at noon or later because one member of our group had obligations (he's working for the convergence), but now he's taking a ride back with other people.

Then a plan to visit Washington DC was floated. I am against the idea, as it is 2 hours (one way) out of our way, and we have a many hour drive ahead of us anyway. I...

For lunch today, I went to the Hard Rock cafe. I didn't look around much, but the memorabilia that most caught my eye was this keyboard smashed by Nine Inch Nails.

Don't know about Love Story, but I'm pretty sure that sculpture has more to do with the fact that Philadelphia is known as "The City of Brotherly Love".

It's too bad the art museum got rid of the Rocky statue. =(

Gave a final rehearsal talk for co-author approval. I think it's possible that my talk has had the least amount of interference. The only thing that changed much from 1.0 to 2.0... was that they wanted me to add more text to my slides. Which I guess is okay, since it reduces the possibility of forgetting something I wanted to say, but on the other hand my preference is not to have slides that are as busy as some people's.

I've been looking at posters for the past two hours. Posters are a ... weird ... way of conveying scientific information. Maybe I'll elaborate later.

I'll probably get lunch at a franchise place so I can use my credit card. (I've already eaten 3 cheese steaks and one chicken steak) Then there's nothing going on in this conference that is relevant for me until 3:30. So, uh, until then .. I have no idea.

So, I was thinking, if other places tried to make cheese steaks like they do in Philly, could they finally be successful? Probably not.

Probably the other key is that cheesesteak places just make cheese steaks. So, at Jims, they just had a big pile of onions on the grill and took off some for each sandwich. You're not just getting your grease, you're getting the grease from every other cheesesteak. It's like that traditional cake that you keep a little dough from to...

A big, fake Les Paul by the Hard Rock Cafe. I'm standing on a catwalk between two buildings.

I've been to that Hard Rock Cafe. I even remember the catwalk between two buildings that was near it. It kind of sucked, though. Maybe it's improved since then, but the food wasn't very good and they just kept playing Rolling Stones songs the whole time I was there.

Okay, that didn't quite work. I forgot I was supposed to take 17th to Vine, and just kept going down 17th. I eventually made it to the Free Library (that's what they call it) and thought about checking in here, maybe looking at Google maps. However, it isn't one of those cool libraries where you can just use the internet; it's one of those lame ones where you have to talk to the librarian first.

Yesterday I went to Philadelphia on business.

Before I left, I told FO that my goal was to eat either one cheese steak or one chicken steak every day I was here (unless I find another food Philadelphia is known for). I got my start today. For lunch I picked up one from a street vendor.
