Oh, I remember that white page with the bar when clicking on a midi. Been many years since I've seen that. I remember for a long time music files would come up and play in a separate Media Player window, then one day it started doing that and I couldn't figure out why until someone on a forum I was going to at the time reported the same error and he was told to uninstall Quicktime.

I was just doing an update of iTunes and Quicktime and it tried to shut down my Antivirus without asking first. Rather, the Antivirus popped up with a message saying that a program was trying to disable it and whether I had authorized that action.

You've just explained the main reason I hate Quicktime and won't install it on my PC.

What I hate about Quicktime is every now and again it decides to update itself, and when it does that it switches Quicktime to the default player for all my sound files. So, when I click a song or something on a website, it changes the page into a blank white with this little bar in the middle, and since the times this happens are so far apart I can never remember how to switch it back to the way I had it, i.e. Windows Media Player comes up with the song and I can continue looking at the...

You could save the files from Quicktime if they weren't so ridiculous as to make that exclusive to the Pro version which you have to pay for.

That's one of the reasons I don't like Quicktime.

Right click on the hyperlink, and choose "save target as," or whichever option your browser displays in the drop-down menu that is worded closest to that.

i can't download any music. if i click on the title it just starts quick time player and i can listen to it but how can i download it?
