Amazon.com has it listed as Voodoo Child under SRV's albums. I looked it up on Wikipedia and they said that the Jimi Hendrix version was accidentally track-listed as Voodoo Chile. Now, whether or not it was an accident could be called into question when considering Wikipedia's credibility, but the fact that other versions call it "Voodoo Child" might be a hint that it was. Either way, it doesn't count since it's obviously not a reference in any way shape or form to...

It is Voodoo Chile, but in this case "chile" means "child", not the country. It's not even pronounced the same way. And it's a cover of a Jimi Hendrix song.

As far as I can tell, there's no SRV song called "Voodoo Chile". There is "Voodoo Child", so either you've misheard the lyrics or you're confusing it with another song.

The Battle of Evermore - (Led Zeppelin)

I would have mentioned this one, but I don't know if "Evermore" is a place in this case or if it literally means "evermore", as in a neverending battle. The lyrics don't really make it clear. And I can find no information on what the title is referencing.

I think it WAS pretty clear, especially from the examples -- All of the early ones are specific place names.

Yes, but I think my original intention was to name song titles that mention very specific places - the name of a place, whether real or fictitious. I'll count nicknames so long as the nickname is distinct to that one particular place. Otherwise, we're opening up a can of worms and things like Ozzy Osbourne's "Mama, I'm Coming Home" could count.

We haven't played a game in awhile and I thought of an idea for one.

The subject is songs that have the name of a place in the title. The place can be real or fictitious. I'll start with a few off the top of my head:
