I mentioned in the other thread that I was going to preorder FF4 DS and did so. But when I found out about the job situation today I was feeling good and picked up Dragon Quest Swords. I had gone with someone to get an eye exam and the Gamestop was right next door. I didn't feel like leaving empty handed and it seemed like a game I could play somewhat casually.

I was browsing for game bargains and I saw that the PC version of the Godfather game was 9.95 for direct download. It's probably nothing too special but it seemed like it was meant to be, since it was the only game I saw at that price and I had just finished watching the movies. I've gotta give it a couple decades to download before I can try it, though.

I bought Okami for Wii at the new Gamestop in town. Since it's been years since we've had a decent game store here (and that's being generous: I'm counting the pawn shop), I've wanted to keep business flowing here. The Qdoba next door to it closed because it's such a crappy locale - right next to Wal-Mart on the edge of town - so I don't want this business to go under, either.

I had an Amazon.com gift certificate and because I purchased our new bed on my card, I got another one, totalling $50 in free merchandise. I bought some more music with it. I got:

bought a pair of those supposedly new bata leather shoes with flexisoles/heels. my 5 year old leather shoes which ive been wearing to work had a huge hole on on the right heel. the shoes had a more narrow base and its nose is slightly sloped upwards like running shoes.felt a bit awkward(sp?) at first, like wearing heels or football(real football not the yankee kind) shoes, but i got used to it after a few hours. very comfy even though it had almost no padding inside unlike my old shoes, and...

Discs read outward, right?

The scratches are focused around the centers of the discs. I kind of wanted to play the first two games first, but I suppose I could play this for a while and see if it acts up.

If nothing else, I could probably them to Gamer's Anonymous. They buffed Sacrifice for me for free when I bought some stuff from them (needless diversion time: although with Sacrifice, I think the damage was just too severe. When I got it in the mail it had nasty...

Do they seem like they'll still work okay? I had a lot of luck cleaning scratched discs with toothpaste.

So I've been enjoying that cell phone brick buster or whatever it's called game so much that I decided to go ahead and get the Wii Ware one, too. I feel a little guilty under the circumstances but it's a pretty small amount of money and I've been doing pretty well on ebay.

Because I'm a sucker for limited editions that come with art books and galleries, I bought the Halo 3 special edition at Best Buy for $50 even though the regular game was $60. And I guess I found out why that is: The special edition's disc holders are poorly designed, and both discs had become loose and gotten scratched up. I checked Amazon, and half the people there had this happen to them.

Looks like Microsoft is aware of this and is offering a disc replacement program,...

One of the very first things I ordered on Amazon.com, before I even had a credit card, was Vandal Hearts 2. It took over a month for me to get it!

I was sort of amazed that they even had Vandal Hearts 2 (this was several months after the game was released, and it disappeared from local store shelves within about a month) so part of me wonders if it was an issue of them having trouble locating it. I think their claim was that it took that long for payment to clear or something....

Preordereded'd some game called DMC4, and Advance Wars Day of Ruin. I wonder why they're still calling it "Advance".
