According to that Hasbro page, they finally re-released Soundwave. I haven't ever seen it, though.

Well, I spent money on something completely frivolous today.

To back up a bit, I saw at Target that they have Transformers based on the upcoming movie, they're on sale (only about $7), and many of them do meet Lighthouseboy's criteria of looking like real earth vehicles -- "robots in disguise". That's not true for all of them -- Star Scream and at least one version of Optimus Prime turned into some weird rocks with tails thing -- maybe the best way to describe...

The only reason I changed my mind is that I noticed this thread was in an archive forum, so I didn't think anyone would even see the post.

But, yeah, that Shoe Transformer is about the lamest thing ever. At first, I thought it'd be a normal shoe (that could be worn) but that would have some Transformers aspect to it (a puffy sticker of Optimus Prime on the side, or maybe it could come with a crappy Happy Meal-calibur transformer). As is, it's even more stupid.

I have a couple of unopened ones. I think I have a rereleased ThunderCracker that I haven't opened yet. That was one of the few that I had as a child. That original one has seen better days. The rubber tip of the nose has been ripped off, the cockpit hatch has broken off, I think the fists for the robot form are missing, it's possible the wings are missing, too... I guess I could open the new one if I wanted one in good condition for any reason (to display for instance), but FO has a...

Me too. That's what sold me on it. I didn't know there was another version until I looked it up on the internet at home later. The plain SUV colored one looked really lame, imho.

Those G1 Transformers are cheaper on Toys Be We . com then they are in the store. Red Alert was $25 in the store and $13 online.

I Found One! I bought that Smokescreen Subaru yesterday at a Walmart in Weirton WV. Man does that look great.

That's why I stopped collecting them. It was just too expensive. But I got a lot of my favorite characters from the show, like Hoist, Grapple, Red Alert, Tracks, Jazz, Prowl, Starscream, and Bluestreak. There are still a few I'd get if they rereleased them, like Hound and Wheeljack. (I do have an old G1 Wheeljack, but it's in really bad shape.)

I would like to get some of those G1 Transformers, but they're so darn expensive. $30 just for one. Ouch!

But I'm still thinking of getting one for DH as a Christmas present. She was more into Transformers than I was.
