Happy New Year and such. Would be happier if I didn't have to get up at 6AM tomorrow (actually today!), but it was still somewhat enjoyable. I feel like the last year was one of the most eventful of my entire life. Maybe that's why I feel so worn out. Here's hoping that 2007 is nice and mundane.

I am not getting anywhere in terms of gaming lately.

I've beaten the game on Hard before, but using the New Game +. This time, for the heck of it, I started on Hard from scratch.
In Lufia I beat the Dark Ghost after a little leveling. I game over'd in the Old Cave when I got careless, and opted to lose half my money rather than the progress I had made, which I wasn't sure how long ago I had saved (plus, right now I've got more money than I'll probably ever use). I just messed around with Outrun 2006 for PC... it was a discounted title on Steam, so I went for it. It's a nice arcadey experience. Controls well (after the hellish configuration), has lots of tracks, and looks nice. These are my screencaps of the first track. It looks better in motion, though.
Except I never noticed that there's two rooms where the tiles fly at you, and both of those rooms have a key hidden under a jar. Kind of repetitive for such a short area. It teaches you all the basics of controlling Link and getting around by having you actually play, rather than boring you with pages of text about what rupees are and how to use magic and what every button does. It's got good music, doesn't take too long to get through on a replay, and you could possibly run out of hearts on your first time through the game. Perfect starting area.
