I had a coupon for something called Palmolive Pure & Clear dish soap that said I'd be reimbursed the cost of it if I sent in the coupon, the receipt, and the UPC symbol from the bottle. Yesterday, I got what I had sent in back in the mail with a letter stating I couldn't get the refund because there was no date on the receipt.

This is bullshit. Not all stores print dates on their receipts and this one apparently didn't, which I have no control over. But the postmark...

Our grocery store finally got in Coca Cola from Mexico. The notable thing about this is that it is made with real sugar, as opposed to corn syrup.

It's kind of pricey, for what it is. A single serving bottle is $2.

I've heard that around passover, you might get Coke with real sugar, though they don't advertise it. The clue is that the bottle top is yellow.

FO has the alarm set to "radio", so the first thing I heard this morning was "...President Obama has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize." Then she turned it off and I asked if I just heard what I thought I heard.

That seems to have come out of nowhere. It's too early into his presidency to know what he'll accomplish....

Writing "genius" characters

In particular, ones who have a reputation in the story for their intelligence - the other characters consider them geniuses or experts. Whenever I see a smart character I think two things: one, how will the author manage to write a character smarter than he is? Two, will the smart person talk and act like real smart people? If the supposed genius is dumb it shatters my belief in the author's world.

I thought Ender's Game had believable geniuses. But too often I see stupid...

I can't really figure this out at all.

From everything I've read, it's not like you can enroll for a budget price of $60 a month, and then go hogwild and actually use like $200 the next month, because you'll get billed for that overage.
